Our Story

We arrived in Basel four years ago and immediately noticed something missing: a real specialty coffee culture. In Spain and Colombia, coffee is a moment, you talk to the barista, try new coffees, connect with people around you. We couldn’t find that experience here. After waiting for someone to create it, we decided to do it ourselves. With no hospitality background, but with passion, curiosity, and a clear vision of what coffee can be, we built Brü, a place where quality, community, and culture come together.

Mission & VISION

Our mission is to redefine Basel’s coffee culture by delivering a premium and consistent experience centered on quality and community. While a couple of specialty cafés already existed in the city, they were primarily roasters focused on showcasing their own beans. We wanted to offer something different: a place that brings world-renowned roasters and top-tier coffees from around the globe, served at their best in both espresso and filter.

Our vision is to establish the café as the go-to destination for specialty coffee and brunch — a benchmark for quality, variety, and experience in Basel’s culinary landscape.
