Nicaragua Los Placeres
Tasting Notes: Chocolate • Brown Sugar • Hazelnut
Nicaragua Los Placeres is a full-bodied, smooth single-origin coffee with comforting notes of chocolate, brown sugar, and hazelnut. Ethically grown at 1,000–1,200 masl in Matagalpa by the Mierish family, this specialty coffee is ideal for espresso, cezve, or moka brewing.
The Mierish family is one of the most respected names in Nicaraguan specialty coffee, with generations of expertise in cultivating exceptional lots. Their farms in the Matagalpa highlands benefit from rich volcanic soil, ample rainfall, and cool mountain temperatures that slow the cherry maturation process. The Ethiosar variety, a rare Ethiopian-derived cultivar adapted to Central American conditions, produces a cup with remarkable depth and sweetness. The fully washed process ensures a clean, balanced profile that highlights the terroir.
Brewing Recommendation: Best enjoyed as espresso, cezve (Turkish coffee), or moka pot. Pair with a chocolate croissant or roasted hazelnut praline.
