Justin Musabyimana’s Mahembe Coffee operation represents the new generation of Rwandan specialty coffee producers who combine traditional farming knowledge with modern processing techniques. The volcanic terrain of Karongi, overlooking Lake Kivu, provides mineral-rich soil that gives the Red Bourbon variety its distinctive depth and complexity. The fully washed process emphasises clarity and brightness, allowing the terroir to express the vibrant blackcurrant and blueberry character that earned this lot its prestigious competition ranking.
Brewing Recommendation: Best enjoyed as a V60 pour-over or AeroPress. Pair with blueberry scones or a caramel brownie for a delightful tasting experience.
