Tasting Notes: Mandarin • Molasses • Watermelon

A natural-process Caturra from Maracay Farm in Armenia, Quindío. Operated by Luz Helena Salazar for over 20 years, this light roast delivers watermelon and tangerine layered with deep molasses sweetness, a full rounded body, and a long expressive finish.

Maracay Farm sits in the heart of Colombia’s famous Coffee Triangle, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. The cherries are sun-dried on African beds at La Pradera station, where careful temperature management during drying develops the distinctive watermelon and citrus character. Luz Helena’s two decades of expertise in natural processing have earned her recognition as one of Quindío’s most accomplished specialty coffee producers. Grown at 1,200–1,500 masl, the Caturra variety benefits from the region’s year-round mild temperatures and rich Andean soil.

Brewing Recommendation: Best enjoyed as a V60 pour-over or cold brew to showcase the fruity sweetness. Pair with a citrus salad or watermelon granita.
