Costa Rica Tarrazu
Tasting Notes: Chocolate • Red Apple • Almond
This specialty coffee comes from the mountainous regions of Costa Rica, grown at an altitude of 1,600–1,750 masl — conditions that produce the highest-class coffee. The Caturra variety is known for its sophistication and balanced flavour, expressing the best qualities of Central American specialty coffees.
After careful hand-harvesting at Finca La Ortiga, each coffee bean goes through the classic washed process, which emphasises the purity and delicacy of the flavour profile. The beans are fermented in pure water, then dried under the sun to preserve their natural freshness. The Tarrazú region is one of Costa Rica’s most celebrated coffee origins, where the combination of high altitude, volcanic soil, and cool Pacific breezes creates a terroir that consistently produces award-winning lots. The result is a coffee with distinct fruity and sweet notes, with a crystal-clear taste.
Brewing Recommendation: Best enjoyed as espresso or V60 pour-over. Pair with an apple strudel or almond croissant for a classic Central American coffee experience.
