Rwanda Karongi
Tasting Notes: Berries • Honey • Grapefruit
A fully washed Red Bourbon from Karongi, Rwanda. Grown at 1,800 masl on volcanic hillsides, this light roast reveals vibrant berry sweetness layered with delicate honey and a bright grapefruit finish.
The Karongi district on the shores of Lake Kivu is one of Rwanda’s premier specialty coffee origins. The combination of nutrient-rich volcanic soil, high altitude, and the lake’s moderating influence on temperature creates ideal conditions for the Red Bourbon variety to develop exceptional complexity. After selective hand-picking, the cherries are fully washed at local washing stations, producing the clean, bright profile that has made Rwandan specialty coffee a favourite among discerning roasters and baristas worldwide.
Brewing Recommendation: Best enjoyed as a V60 pour-over or Chemex. Pair with a berry tart or honey-drizzled yogurt for a vibrant morning ritual.
